Jack Donaldson Level of care in presentation: Basic. There are many text only posts. You also have some post which have multiple tasks in them – can these be spilt out and labelled accordingly. Research into similar products and a potential target audience: High end of basic. No images (text only) for horror openings analysis. Can you summarise your findings? What are the common occurrences in action, sound and print styles that crop up in horror continuously? Same for the general conventions posts – you have included no images to back up the information you have found. Also, this post should focus more on the general ingredients (e.g. production logo is always included but sometimes amended to set tone/atmosphere of the film, print styles are often manipulated to suggest genre to the audience etc…). Target audience research has been completed. You are missing some sort of outcome to your audience feedback task (video of film pitches). You should have a post of the results and the final decision for your film idea. You have an ‘explanation of final idea’ post on your blog but it comes after the script and shotlist – you need to post this after the pitches. Work on shotlist, drafting, scripting and storyboards: You have a script (but only one draft – I am sure you made changes. These should be logged), a partial storyboard (again, you should have amended drafts) and a shot list. Due to lack of drafting (with comments on changes) and only a partial storyboard – this would be classified as ‘basic’. Your narrative structure should also be near the start of your planning stages – I didn’t find it until a much later post. Organisation of actors, locations, costumes, props: Lower end of proficient. You have included some good location reports which compared your chosen locations to existing films. It would be great to do this with all decisions made regarding casting, wardrobe, scripting etc… Time management has been generally good. Overall – higher level 2. You have most of the ‘must’ task but would definitely benefit from more of the ‘should’ tasks. Work completed is sometime lacking in detail and you have not produced enough drafts to demonstrate progression of your idea/production. You need to undertake the above and ensure all posts are presented in an engaging manner.
