Plan for evaluation: Last point of question 2, and question 3
For my overall evaluation i've decided to set it all within a small commentary on iMovie. I've done this by creating powerpoint slides, which I will screenshot and place as an image within the movie, along with a soundtrack, and a voice over and various clips which are examples, to support my points. Firstly for the last point on question two i'm going to discuss a more in depth analysis of women's portrayal in the film to be weak, and seen as vulnerable. Also I will discuss how the audience would expect this from females as women are often portrayed as this within film, and that we have to a degree supported this expectation. However not all women within horror are represented in this way, and in fact are seen as the killers, and dangerous ones, which men are often seen as in other films.
My plans for question 3 are to include research from observing other psychological horrors such as the Exorcist which were produced by Warner Bros, and Psycho and Uninvited produced by Paramount. This suggests that major blockbuster film companies, are most likely to produce horror films as they gain the most success when it comes to awareness, and hype from these big companies - part of the 'Big Six'. Based on an overall decision as a group, we decided our film would be targeted at a mainstream audience as it was easy to understand and follow which an arthouse perhaps wouldn't be. Companies such as Paramount and Warner Bros. are successful at distributing their films as they are well known companies, and audiences expect a high quality of film to be shown to them, compared to art-house companies which often rely on one of the Big-Six companies to distribute their films, in an attempt to gain the same type of awareness. E.g. Exorcist produced by 'Hoya Productions' but distributed by Warner Bros. to gain revenue.

Marking current film work
- Producing material appropriate for target audience and task (e.g. this should resemble a horror film opening with a specific audience in mind)
Grade 2(Mid)
- Using titles/credits appropriately and in line with professional conventions
Grade 1(Low)
- Using sound with images and editing appropriately for the task set
Grade 2(Mid)
- Controlled use of camera and attention to framing
Grade 2(Mid)
- Attention to mise en scene
Grade 2(Low)
- Variety of shot types (using apt shot sizes)
Grade 2(Low)
- Using editing so that meaning is appropriate to the viewer
Grade 2(Mid)
To improve our work my plan for improvement is to do more shot types, and observe whats on screen, for example where the bucket has been placed isn't visible when Emily's standing outside the door, and whether it fits between shots. In addition credits must be included and re-filming of some shots especially Emily's scene where you can see a laugh and characters need to be more fearsome and in slightly better costume, e.g. Junior's clothing in the shot.
